This lovely Victorian seaside town offers breathtaking views across the Solway of Dumfries and Galloway and has, as its backdrop, the timeless Lakeland Mountains. In the other direction we are backed by the Lake District Fells and Mountains and to the east we have Hadrian’s Wall.

The Muncaster Experience in Ravenglass offers a full day of family excitement with its haunted castle, Owl Centre and much more. Steam enthusiasts mustn’t miss a scenic trip on ‘La’al Ratty’ along the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. In Maryport there’s the Senhouse Roman Museum and The Lake District Coast Aquarium.
